5/8+5/12+5/18=

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

what is the least common multiple of 8,12 and 18?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look : 58/10+512/100+518/100=580+512+518/100=?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

8 = 2*2*2 12 = 2*2*3 18 = 2*3*3 so the least common multiple is 2*2*2*3*3

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

so we want our denominator to be 72 we can multiply top and bottom of a fraction by the same number and it will still be the same number so \[\frac{5}{8}=\frac{45}{72}\]you with me so far?
