can some help me find the suface area of a cylinder that has a radius of 4in and a height of 5in the answer needs to be in terms of pi and i dont understand what "in terms of pi " means

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In terms of pi means that you simply leave pi alone when working the problem and leave it in your answer. The formula for surface area of a cylinder is 2 π r^2 + 2 π r h, with r being the radius and h being height. Plug in your numbers and you have 2 π (4)^2 + 2 π (4) (5). When you get your answer you will simply leave it as (answer)pi
