I need help factoring ><

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's your problem?

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

The actual problem is \[x^{5} - 9\] but for the sake of learning a different one, I changed it to \[x ^{5} - 10\] how do I solve the second one?

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

\[x^{4} - 9\] that's the first one apologies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well if you have: \[a^{2m} - b^{2n} = (a^m - b^n)(a^m + b^n); a=x, b=3, m=2,n=1; \] \[\implies x^4-9 = (x^2-3)(x^2+3)\]

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

Ooh! Okay, thank you!!
