what was a common situation for africian americans farmers after reconstruction
Some stayed in the south working on plantations, some traveled to the North to began a new life there. Also, black farmers became tenant, one who farms the land of another and pays rent with cash or with a portion of the produce.
also, some African Americans didn't have any where to go... so they became sharecroppers. which meant, that they either made a deal with slave owner and later became in debt or moved away but of them stayed with the deal. furthermore, because they couldn't produce much on certain seasons; making them go in debt, like i said before...but deal was that land owner ( previous slave owner) gave them property to live on but in return they would work for them....
a better answer! ^ or add on... ;) just give me that medal lol because i'm greedy like that
