**Can somebody please check my work** I have to build a deck thats 8ftx20ft using either 2x4x8 (which are actually 2x3.625x8) boards which are $2.98 each or 2x6x8 (which are actually 2x5.625x8) boards which are $5.98 each. 1. How many boards would you need for each option? 2. What is the cost for each option? 3. What is the best deal? 8*20=160ft^2*12=1,920in^2=deck area #1 (2x4 option) 3.625*(8*12)= 3.625*96=348in^2=area of 2x4 board 1920/348≈6 (teacher said to round up on all answers) #1 (2x6 option) 5.625*(8*12)= 5.625*96=540in^2=area of 2x6 board 1920/540≈4

#2 (2x4 option) 6*2.98=17.88 #2 (2x6 option) 4*5.98=23.92 #3 The 2x4 option is the better deal.
