How do I find the area for this base? Area of base =? Lateral area =? Volume = ? https://media.glynlyon.com/g_geo_2012/8/groupi98.gif

OpenStudy (anonymous):

given: l=4, w=2, h=3 Area of base: lw Lateral area : Perimeter(2l +2w) of base x height Volume:lwh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you put these into numbers? @Data_LG2

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm, can you see the base of the BASE of the cube? what's its width? what's its length? keep in mind that the BASE is really just a rectangle, and its Area, is the area of a rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lil confused. Is the area 6, lateral area 24, and volume 18cubic units?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

ahmm... well, it more than that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just plug the givens in the formulas: the area of base is just the area of a rectangle, lateral area is the perimeter(sum of all sides of the base) of the base multiply by the height which is 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lateral height 36?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And volume 24?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes!! and the area of the base....??|dw:1378583674992:dw|
