Leonard bought 9 CDs, bought 3 DVDs, and spent $15.43 on other items each DVD cost $14.99. Raj bought 15 CDs and had a coupon for 15% off his entire purchase. Both receipts had the same total. Write an equation and find out how much each CD costs.

Use c for cd's and d for dvd's Raj's side of the equation would be 15c -(.15*15c) cost of 15cd's - 15% yes? and Leonard side would be 9c+3d+15.43 but we know the value of d= 14.99 so 9c + 3(14.99) + 15.43 set those equal to each other and Bazinga!
