find the limit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow 1/2} intx\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does anyone know what int means?

OpenStudy (dape):

In computing int(x) usually means the integer-part of the number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so does that mean it is just 1/2?

OpenStudy (dape):

It could also mean the integral of x.

OpenStudy (dape):

But then they usually do a integral-sign.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know it's not integral because we havent started on integrals yet and I remmeber him saying something about the integer like you did but I still wasnt surte what the correct answer was

OpenStudy (dape):

If it is the integer-part then the limit is 0, since the integer part of 1/2=0.5 is 0.

OpenStudy (dape):

It could also mean rounding, then the limit is different.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there anyway to know for sure?

OpenStudy (dape):

Ask your teacher :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright thanks for all your help
