how can you tell if a functional group is hydrophilic, or an amino acid?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

Could u frame the ques in different manner :|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how can you tell if something is hydrophilic-like what factors have to be in place, and also, how can you tell if something is an amino acid-what has to be in place for that to be distinguished

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

Basically hydrophilic are water loving. That means those molecules which readily interact with water molecules.. But in case of amino acid there is a NH3 group and a COOH group. If these 2 groups are present then you can term d molecule as amino acid
