doing a speech on herodotus the father of history... I don't know what is the important information I should include.. He wrote a book called the Histories that is what made him famous, thats basically all what he did... how should I divide my outline?

He is a controversial figure. I believe some of his critics called him "the father of lies" or something like that. Maybe you can take an approach something along those lines. Do you have to take a stance or an opinion in your speech? If so decide which title is more fitting to him and explain your reasoning. If not simply state the facts regarding either viewpoint and let your audience decide.
