4(x + 1) = 4x + 4 would this be No Solution, 0, All Real Numbers, or 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All real numbers

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

welll this problem is essentially saying 4x+4=4x+4. the two are equal. so what does this mean @slumberousteenager ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All real numbers work for x.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

@Avihirschx please don't provide answers without an explanation; its against the rules here at open study

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

I was working on *cough* explaining it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry. First time on this site.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

lol no problem dude just be careful :)

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

so anyhow back to the issue at hand... do you understand @slumberousteenager ?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

I will explain it if you want ;P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jamierox4ev3r please explain it? :3 <3

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

well if the two equations are equal to each other, that means that any number can satisfy x and the two equations would be worth the same because both use the x-variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x+4=4x+4. Every number plugged in for x makes this equation true. 1 is an answer for x, but then again so is any other number, including 0. So all real numbers is the best choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Avihirschx and thank you too, even if you did get scolded, kinda. (x

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

So all real numbers would be corect

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

*correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jamierox4ev3r Thank you so much!

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

lol sorry i hate scolding people but its kind of my job to make sure people follow the rules.. being an ambassador here and whatnot :P
