For g(x)=4-5x determine the input for x when the output of g(x) is 2. Please show steps for me to understand

The answer is 2. Posting explanation momentarily.

2/5****

Alright so the output has to equal 2 for g(x), so that means g(x) has to be equal to two basically. g(x) right now is equal to 4-5x. So we substitute it and make it 4-5x=2. Add the 5x to the other side and it becomes 4=5x+2. Minus the two and get x alone, leaving 5x=2. Now divide both sides by 5 and get the x alone. x equals 2 over 5. This means when you input 2/5 into the equation, the output is 2.

ok the only thing is when i look at the back of the book for answers it says its 0.4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/5 in decimal form is .4. 2/5 is equivalent to 4 over 10, which is .4 in decimal form. :) Please give me a Best response medal!
