How Is this a function I do not understand -5,1 -3,2 -1,3 1,2

OpenStudy (waheguru):

In these pairs one x two different x values share the same y value then how is it a function. I thought a function was when evrey input had its own unique output?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a function because none of the domain numbers (-5,-3,-1,1) repeat.

OpenStudy (waheguru):

Can you explain what a function is?

OpenStudy (waheguru):

Isn't it when each input has a unique output?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A function is a set of pairs where none of the inputs repeat. The outputs can repeat, but not the inputs

OpenStudy (waheguru):

Arright, Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you understand though?

OpenStudy (waheguru):
