f(x) = x-9 / x+5 g(x) = -5x-9 / x-1

Do you mean f(x) = (x-9)/(x+5)? Do you mean g(x) = (-5-9)/(x-1)?

2) Do the substitution indicated by the notation.

If it said f(3), what would you do?
