How are the directions of the electric and magnetic field in a traveling EM wave related? How about their phase? Pretty sure the direction is perpendicularly related but the phase?

I agree that the directions are orthogonal! They would have the same wavelength, I think. But I think the phase angle would be \(0\) normally. I think there are also polarizations of light in which there can be a non-zero phase angle between electric and magnetic field. It might be beneficial to look up polarization, specifically circular or elliptical polarization if I remember correctly! I have to go, but good luck finding your answer!
