Let f(x) = -4x + 7 and g(x) = 10x - 6, find f(g(x)). -40x + 24 -40x + 31 -40x + 64 -40x + 70

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same routine?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

same thing substitute the x of f(x) for 10x -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so... -4x(10x - 6) + 7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets see... distribute... 10x(-4x) - 6(-4x) + 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so... -40x - 24x + 7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait maybe take out the x of 24 and then add 7 so its -40x - 31?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

remember it is by 4 not 4x so you have -4(10x) -4(-6) +7 also remember that - times - is positive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right so its -40x + 31?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

correct, good job

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks! I have one more question for ya then im done :)

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

ok
