I give medals!!! African American slaves and freedmen had many talents. Describe the roles that these individuals played in the economy of the North and South in the 1800s.

African Americans in the 1800's did not have many freedoms at this time period sadly, so what they did do was forced. They worked on plantations and produced goods for there masters. The masters then sold these good and did not recompense his slaves, hence the word slaves. Without these good being produced by the slaves the economy would not have been as good as it was back then. So in a major way the African Americans were the back bone of our economy in the 1800's
