8x < -32

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

x is being multiplied by 8. you want x by itself. To solve the inequality, you divide both sides by 8 to isolate x. Since 8 is not a negative number, the inequality sign remains the same. \(8x < -32 \) \(\dfrac{8x}{8} < \dfrac{-32}{8} \) \(x < -4\)
