Which of the following properties is necessary to simplify the expression given below?(–2) + 5(x – 3) – 4x(6 + 1)

first is distribution, then commutation, then simplification...in that order. distribute the 5 into (x - 3) and -4x into (6+1). Commutative property results when you combine like terms. Simplify is the last step. There is possibly a typo on your expression...i'm thinking that should be a (6x + 1). Either way, the process remains the same.
