simplify (5x^2z^6)^3 times (5x^2z^6)^-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is 1.

Multiplying like terms, you just add the exponents. For instance, x^2 * x^ (-3) = x ^ (-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In this case, you just add the exponents 3 and (-3) to get the whole term raised to the zero. Anything raised to 0 is 1!

Thank you! I got a different answer, but when I checked on the computer it said 1. I can see how they got that answer though :) Can you check my answer for this one? rewrite with positive exponents and simplify (4y^-2)(8y^4) my answer was 32y^2
