OpenStudy (anonymous):

-5x-10=2-(x+4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

distribute the right hand side to get \[-5x - 10 = 2 - x - 4\] do some simplification we get \[-5x -10 = -2 -x\] add a 5x on both sides we get \[-10 = -2 + 4x\] add a 2 to both sides we get \[-8 = 4x\] now divide both sides by 4 to get x
