y = log x , if y = 10, what is x?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

First, you need to understand what log is. The way I understand it, it's the reversal of an expression raised to a power. If you can find that relation, you can rearrange any log equation into a number raised to a power. Then you can solve it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logarithm might help. Look at the definitions section. Let me know if you still need help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I know, I got the answer x = 10^10, but the answer is x = 1

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

That would be if x and y are reversed. The answer to that question should be 100. Hmm I'm not sure if I'm missing something else here. It's either that or the answer is wrong.

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

I mean 10^10

ok thank you you <3
