f=F/d-F for d i get d=F/f+F is this correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

if the problem is \[ f= \frac{F}{d} - F \] add +F to both sides \[ f + F = \frac{F}{d} \] divide both sides by F \[ \frac{f+F}{F}= \frac{1}{d} \] now "flip" both sides \[ d= \frac{F}{f+F} \]

OpenStudy (phi):

so you got it right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (phi):

if the problem is \[ f= \frac{F}{d-F} \] then you get something else.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait it is like the last one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry about that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me do it again and see if i'm right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on a sec...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it d=-F
