well look at this http://www.usca.edu/chemistry/genchem/sigfig.htm hopfully that helps. the only thing that I can tell you is that sig figs are read from left to write.. you only want 4 sig figs (all non zero numbers are sig figs) so you go left to write until there are 4 sig figs and IN THIS CASE you make the rest zeroes... so left to write its 431800
