Why wouldn't it be? lim x->2 f(x) doesn't necessarily equal f(2)

So even thought it's approaching 6, it doesn't necessary have to be solved at 6.

Exactly. To put it simply, you could have a graph with a "holed" point.

And a point, say, above the "holed" point
