would a line with 3 points have 4 diffrent rays
|dw:1378871625532:dw| Circles are points
|dw:1378871661886:dw| Can you tell how many rays are there?
4?
A ray has one end point and extends in other direction. Let me show you one ray, see the circled part|dw:1378871786558:dw| This is a ray
How many more are there?
6?
i thought a ray had to have 2 points though ?
@ash2326
nope, a ray has one end point and then it extends other side.
Sorry I was away ;/
|dw:1378873055764:dw| So how many rays are there totally?
6? @ash2326
Ok, let me explain, look at the circled part, it is bounded by two points, it can't extend in neither direction. So it's not a ray|dw:1378874091270:dw|
However these can extend in one direction ( indicated by arrows) So they are rays. Think of sun rays, they originate from sun and reach here|dw:1378874149915:dw|
Sun|dw:1378874163036:dw| Sun and three rays
Do you follow?
how many rays are u saying there are?
Look at the figure and tell, I have indicated. Based on your understanding
