I was thinking that there should be a better way then suspending users because majority of them dont change their attitudes as suspension of few hours, days or even weeks dont really effect them

OpenStudy (rane):

i have seen users doing this recently, they were suspended due to bad language and other negative attitudes but they haven't change. So, suspension at times is not a solution. thats just my opinion i dont know if any of u guys will agree

@.Sam. @hartnn @Preetha

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

well i don't think there is a different method of suspension really.... its difficult to explain, but OS does have IP banning if things become really bad. With a website suspension, its not like you have to write out an apology or that it will affect your grades in school or something... so it really is just something that I believe trolls can exploit and take advantage of

OpenStudy (rane):

yeah exactly my point, they will continue to be the same when they'll be back. So, maybe long term suspension like month or so, or decrease in their SS might help. as we know as users SS really maters for us

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

you know what, that's a good idea! if they are just a troll and truly don't care, long term suspensions would probably drive them away forever....or perhaps make them realize what they have done. But some just make a lot of different accounts :P

OpenStudy (rane):

yeah, making another account is possible but I'm not saying using the ideas that i have given will work 100% no way! instead at some point it will decrease the rate of such attitudes of these users

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

yes i totally agree with you :) and there always will be people who bend the rules...its just in their nature and idk why

OpenStudy (rane):

thankx now i just want mods to get my idea and yeah these people are really stubborn

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

yeah ikr? oh mods where art thou?

OpenStudy (rane):

wht? "mods where art though" ?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

lol its old english. I was basically saying "Where are the mods?" lol

OpenStudy (rane):

oh, i dont know but i tagged the ones that were online though

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

The dedicated trolls just make more accounts and spam other ways. This makes part of the issue one of login control. Better filtering, confirmation, etc. so that the influx of trolls can be reduced.
