*Suggestion* Nothing big but I have noticed that their have been users here with 99 Score for well over a year. I can imagine that these users might get bored since they have achieved what is pretty much the maximum goal for them on the site. I think that it would be cool if OpenStudy offered a "reset" button for our own stats or SS. Maybe someone might wanna start fresh. Or maybe add like a new ranking system along side SS for like people who reached level 99. Just an idea.....I think we need more fun on here every once in a while. Different colors, Different shapes, etc.
:)
They had different colors and shapes, an achievement system. But those all were removed. Probably because it would look a little childish, a color circus. Don't know why they removed achievements though. Can't imagine anyone would want to reset their stats, would also be impossible since you have to delete all responses and questions of that user and that will affect a lot more people. On the other hand, increasing the maximum smartscore to let's say 200 would be an idea.
Would be nice to at least increase the smart score. I really wish they would bring back when they had the achievements and colors. I remember those days. & As for resetting stats its just an idea for anyone that might be bored of being stuck at 99 for like 2 years. They need something to keep them going on the site.
Wait, so 100 is impossible?
Only by 1 user.
Which is currently @satellite73
What about a 100 subscore?
I think a continuous smart-score would be good, that way you can go higher, there are more colors to rank up to and there wont be a boing limit.
@Luigi0210 I think it is possible & @Ashleyisakitty I agree...
If we can have a subscore of 100 why not an overall SS of 100?
Only 1 person can have a subscore of 100. The one with the highest overall score will have a smartscore of 100 (satellite has 2x 100 as subscore).
Uhm, well okay..
I still prefer the colors and shapes, an achievement systems. Achievement system makes every user unique/special from each other, for example a user that is able to answer questions other than maths, so they would get something like "think different" achievement which satellite73 may not able to get (no offence satellite73, just for an example :) )
Great explanation! I totally agree with you @.Sam. :)
The achievement system is still active ... its just that up here at 99 its not as noticeable :)
I think the pointing system really sucks...your score increases at a rapid rate till a point and then suddenly there is a halt. It is what drug peddlers do, they give you free drug till you get hooked on and then you have to come back. A better system will be where users EARN there points, I didn't asked/answer a single question and was trolling on chat but still my smartscore raced to 30. I see an exponential growth pattern can someone share the formula or attributes determining the score. I liked the suggestion from @Ashleyisakitty. Have no limits on the scores and please change the half life for the score
I think an achievement system would be a really fun thing for the site! It would encourage more help as well as make the site feel more customized. There could be a section on your profile which shows all the achievements you get. I really really like that idea.
I think it would be interesting to say the least. Perhaps different achievements for different sections of mathematics? A diversity achievement as was mentioned by @.Sam. There are really endless possibilities with this. As to the childishness of it, I am sure that there is some way as to implement is and not look like a bunch of circus clowns running around doing algebra....
