Step 1: x = - 8 plus or minus the square root of (8^2 - 4 * 1 * 7) all over 2 * 1.

Step 2: x = - 8 plus or minus the square root of 64 - 28 all over 2 * 1.

Step 3: x = - 8 plus or minus the square root of 36 all over 2 * 1.

Step 4: x = - 8 plus or minus 6 all over 2.
