The Weimar Republic faced a lot of issues -- unemployment, a lagging economy, massive inflation, and a number of radical parties undermining the government's hold on power. Despite these challenges, the Weimar was slowly getting Germany back on the road to recovery. But it was a fragile recovery. The Great Depression opened another can of worms that ultimately brought the Weimar Republic into the hands of radicals such as the Nazis.
