Suppose you are going to graph the data in the table below. What data should be represented on each axis and what should the increments be? (2 points) Hours Distance traveled (miles) 1 60 2 35 3 45 4 65 5 55 6 62 7 12 8 65

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 to 8 go on the x-axis and 12 to 65 go on to the y-axis depending on the graph paper u use ill go up the y-axis in 10s that is 10lines between 0 to 10 and another 10lines between 10 to 20 so it will be easier to plot the 62 and 35...hope this helps

thomaster (thomaster):

You put the variable unit on the y-axis and the constant unit on the x-axis. A constant unit is the unit that doesn't change, in this case that's the time. For 2 hours, the distance is 35. But it's not otherwise. You can't say for 65 miles the time is 8 because in the 4th hour you also travel 65 miles. So time is the unit that's doesn't vary. That makes distance the variable unit. |dw:1378929478140:dw|
