The Frostburg-Truth bus travels on a straight road from Frostburg Mall to Sojourner Truth Park. The mall is 3 miles west and 4 miles south of the City Center. The park is 3 miles east and 5 miles north of the Center. How far is it from the mall to the park to the nearest tenth of a mile?

I think someone else just posted this question today. Try and check it out.

ok

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

I can give you a hint though. First you'll want to sketch all the info you have. In the end, you will usually have a geometry problem to solve.

Please anyone here know the distance between -4 and 5 on the y axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Never mind I got it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Isaiah if you have problems with positive negative operations, it would help to sketch what you have. Since you are doing Cartesian, it'll be even easier.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

noticed the distances, to find the "blue line" or hypotenuse, you can use the pythagorean theorem

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

@wolfe8 Thanks. I quickly remembered absolute values those quickly helped. I'm good.
