Determine the value of the expression 4/7 of 28
First of all let's see if we can divide 28 by 7...can we?
you get 4
i don't understand what they mean by "of"
if we divide 28 in 7 equal pieces, how much is each piece? whatever amount each of the 7 pieces are, it then says grab 4 of those 7 pieces
sorta like grabbing a PIE and cutting it in 7 equal pieces, then taking out 4 of them in this case it's just not a pie, is a quantity :)
Ok so sorry I was afk anyways yes as jdoe is explaining you divide it by 7 and take those four "pieces"
so is the answer just 4?
We know that 28/7 = 4
No
okay
First we divided the whole number (28) by the denominator (7) and now we have to multiply the quotient (outcome of dividing) by the numerator.
sammysweets have you done fractions divisions yet?
i'm sorry, i'm horrible with fractions... so you multiply 4 by the numerator which is 7...?
no nevermind that's wrong
Remember this little tip, denominator is the number on the bottom and the numerator is on top :)
would it be 16?
DING DING DING DING
:D
i thought way too into that question! hahah well thank you!
Haha yes it's simple but you are like me, always over thinking ;)
