predict what abolitionists might have said about the missouri compromise

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Abolitionists most likely didn't like this due to the fact that they weren't doing anything about ending Slavery. They most likely felt that the government passed the Missouri Compromise to silence the American people. Also that the government was giving into the south because they didn't want to upset them by taking away their slaves. The U.S government didn't really want a split nation. A split nation would " ruin their vision Manifest Destiny". Also feeling that there is no compromise worthy of someones life. That everyone should be treated equal and there is no way to justify a compromise when someone is being treated as cattle.
