help me please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow 0} f(x)=\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what does the open and closed interval mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ill give you a hint, the open interval means there is a gap in that value, the closed interval mean the value is included. So when you hit the open circle it would go down to the closed circle and continue at that point. Now use this information to determine what would happen if the function kept going towards 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try to your estimate what y-value will be hit as it approaches the x-value of 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how am i supposed to estimate it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Osako

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok each line represents one unit. on x=0 what y-value is it close to? Hint between 0 and 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that i am not stupid. but i could pick any decimal between .000000000000000001 and .5555555555111114444 or something llike that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where does the line hit on x=0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would have to be negative since the line is under the x=0 on the graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry -.000000000000001

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Close, although you need to understand the graph's unit. What is the y-value's rate on the y axis? It is going down by -1 right? -1,-2, -3. On the red line it hits between 0 and -1 where do you think it is closest too? Hint: its less than -1/2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u mean more -1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you believe that is the closes accuracy you can come up with, then it can be your answer. Although to tell you there can be a better answer for your question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is best if you answer it, but if you really can't find the answer then I will share it with you. -1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do u know that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In this type of question you have to give your own best approximation guess. In your questions's graph the red line approaches APPROXIMATELY -1/3. if you were to cut that that 1 unit by the red line it would be the best guess that it is cutting it by 1/3 since the unit is negative it is -1/3.
