You are attending a museum. You have $50 to spend. Admission to the museum is $15. Admission to each special exhibit inside the museum is $10. Write an expression that can be used to find the number of special exhibits you can include in the visit. Solve equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

50 is what the total amount has to add up to, 15 is a set cost, so it's like a constant in an equation, and each exhibit costs 10 making the total cost of exhibits the only thing that can change so that's what you would multiply by your variable, is that enough to get you started?

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it 50=15+10x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that's right, sorry i left for a bit. but you are correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you were to solve the equation how would you intrepret 4.5 in the problem ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i meant 3.5
