m-4n=8 solve for m

OpenStudy (megannicole51):

how do you think that you can get m by itself?

OpenStudy (megannicole51):

hint: what you do to one side, you have to do to the other:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Add m on both sides right ?

OpenStudy (megannicole51):

nope but you're working on the right side...if you want m by itself you need to take everything away from it by using simple algebra. try moving the 4n...how do you think you are going to move it to the other side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well add 4n on both sides because it's subtracting so you would have to do the opposite of subtraction which is of course adding ?

OpenStudy (megannicole51):

yup...so then what does m equal?
