What early time period did people become farmers?

I was gonna go with late stone age....reading up a bit the correct name is Neolithic which means new stone age...but adaption of farming not really uniform across the world. Some folks didn't start farming until the early bronze period. In any case 10,000 years ago seems to be a consensus: book 1 - How Humans Evolved by Boyd and The Time Before History by Colin Tudge. Those are the generic answers - your particular textbook may have a different opinion
