Please help? Choose the polynomial that is written in standard form. Choose one answer. a. 2x3y2 + 4x4y + 8x7 b. −3x4y2 + 4x4y5 + 10x2 c. 6xy2 + 4x3y8 + 9x2 d. −2x5y3 + 4x2y2 + x2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a polynomials standard format is as follows a_0x^n+a_1x^n-1+.....a_nx^0 i.e it follows decreasing powers

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Standard form means terms are in decreasing order of degree. The degree of a term is the sum of all the powers in that term.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Only one of your choices fits the criteria for standard form... which one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it d @debbieG

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I Think It is D

msg me ; )

OpenStudy (debbieg):

\( \Large −2x^5y^3 + 4x^2y^2 + x^2\) The terms have degrees: 8, 4, 2, so yes, it's d. :) You can also confirm that none of the others have terms in decreasing order of degree.

I appreciate the help! @debbieG
