I have to write an essay with the topic of: "Describe a setting in which you have collaborated or interacted with people whose experiences and/or beliefs differ from yours. Address your initial feelings, and how those feelings were or were not changed by this experience." How would I write on that topic when I have never really been in that type of situation???

You can let the teacher know you have never been in that type of situation before and then just write your essay on what you would do if you were.
