OpenStudy (drakedoesmc):

i would say 4 because usually a square is twice as long diagonally as it is horizontally

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

use the 45-45-90 rule => http://nanharbison.com/sats/math_images/45-45-90.gif notice the ratios of relationships

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

in the 45-45-90 rule, the LONGEST side is \(\bf x\sqrt{2}\) and the other 2 sides, which are equal to each other btw, are "x" so in this case it happens that your longer side is "8", that means that \(\bf 8 = x\sqrt{2}\) to find "x", or that other 2 sides, solve for "x"

ok thanks but who want the gold medal?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hehe, it doesn't matter
