Choose the axiom that allows b(7) to be written 7b. a.commutative - addition b.distributive c.symmetric d.associative - multiplication e.commutative - multiplication

Any ideas?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

@magan Are you still there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya i'm thinking its associative - multiplication

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Let b=2 in the statement: b(7) =7b, does 2(7) = 7(2)?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

"Commute" means to MOVE from one place to another. The 7 has moved from being on the the right hand side of b to being on the left hand side of b. "b" has commuted that is why this is called the commutative property.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so which one would it be?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

You decide.
