*Suggestion* So I was strolling through OpenStudy and came up with a pretty cool idea. We have many users here who work very hard every day and they never get recognized. I think that every month we should have a 'OpenStudier of the Month' to show appreciation to one special user for that period time for what they have done for the community. Let me know your thoughts.

OpenStudy (swag):

Heres what it might look like. What do you think @Preetha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nice :D

OpenStudy (preetha):

Nice. Need to work on it. Below the ads maybe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YAY!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nice idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We can put the ADS in the middle and remove the 2 center people? @Preetha

OpenStudy (swag):

:)

I dislike the idea of, "how many people the person helped" = ranking. I believe it should be based on QUALITY not QUANTITY. OpenStudier of the Month = Democratic vote on who should get the spot. OpenStudiers of the day = The quality of their help. Make a system like that so it is more fair.

OpenStudy (swag):

I agree. I just added that so it would not look so bland.

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

You do realise that a democratic vote also puts a lot of emphasis on quantity... right? Like... the quantity of votes? Oh... the woes of the unsung hero ^_^

OpenStudy (opcode):

@terenzreignz It may take some quantity to have quality. OpenStudier of the Month should be someone all OS users love and someone who teaches extremely well... Sorta like you. (The only way to achieve that would be through votes.)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Awww :') Usually the way to recognise a helper is with the medal-system, which is readily abusable (I don't know that that's a word) :D So if that holds, what more for an "Openstudier of the Month" project. Maybe we can have what I like to call a sorta-democratic system, where the openstudier of the month is elected by vote but it doesn't become official unless, say, Preetha gives her approval, perhaps after more careful inspection of the user. So that it's kinda-democratic and kinda not. (totalitarian? LOL)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I should be OpenStudier of the month. Vote for me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know my smart score isn't 99, but I mean... Look at what I have coded.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Democratic vote is not good either. Only Openstudy Staff/Moderators/Ambassadors hould be allowed to vote. Everyone else would be too bias.

OpenStudy (blues):

It is a nice idea. Maybe any user could nominate any other user. There could be a form or template to make it official and provide some insight as per why the candidate has been nominated. Then the mods and ambis review the nominations and go from there?

OpenStudy (swag):

I agree

OpenStudy (rane):

really nice idea @SWAG :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please i live in a foster home and almost everyone has an account idk why you people think its all me please and also i have proof that i was given a supension for no reason heres the document

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is everything u need to know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i try emailing the place it says but they dont email me back

OpenStudy (opcode):

@countonme123 Everyone is biased that is a fact... Plus the Openstudy Ambassadors are like a different group they would most likely vote for someone in their own group. I kinda like @blues idea. OpenStudy staff (moderators and stuff like that) Choose the candidates. Then normal OpenStudy users vote for which candidate they like best?

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

@blues! You're back! Awesome! And I like your idea.

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

I've thought about adding such a feature in TUOSA. I think it would be really cool.

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

@SWAG why did you edit your question, replace it with a dot, close it and reopen a new one? http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/5232190ee4b012524e883771

OpenStudy (swag):

You guys made my last post to long and irrelevant

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

I agree with your OpenStudier of the Month idea though :) @swag The old OpenStudy used to have such a feature :)
