Can someone please explain to me what are inert gases?

As far as I know , they are the gases which are located in 8A group..or noble gases..they are kind of patient gases..they usually and almost never reacts with other substances, elements..(of course there are exceptions)

XeF6 noble gas halides, XeOF2..etc. you can search it..
