LCM: 2a^2b and 5abc^2 LCM: 2x^3y^2 and 6xy^3 LCM: 22abc and 11ab 4x and 10x^2y

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

LCM: 2a^2b and 5abc^2 start wid finding LCM of numbers first wats LCM of 2 and 5 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok 10

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

good :) save that 10 next find lcm of vairables, one by one. wats LCM of a^2, a ? wats LCM of b, b ? wats LCM of 1, c^2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah how do you find LCM for variables?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

very good q :) LCM of variables is simply the highest exponent. for ex, LCM of k^9, k is k^9

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

so, wats LCM of a^2, a : a^2 wats LCM of b, b : b wats LCM of 1, c^2 : c^2

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

so, LCM of 2a^2b and 5abc^2 is 10a^2bc^2

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

see if that makes some sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I got it..!

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

awesome !! try doing next example by yourself, to be sure :)
