y=\[y=x^{2}+12x+10\] is written as \[y=(x ^{2}+2*x*6+36)-26\] then \[y=(x+6)^{2}-26\]

since 6 is added to x the graph is shifted to right and since 26 is subtracted from former y graph is moved down by 26
