anti-federalists were against a strong national government :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Anti-Federalists wanted a weaker federal government in favor of stronger state legislatures. Most Anti-Federalists did not want the new Constitution. The Anti-Federalists were afraid a strong central government would destroy the liberties Americans had won in the Revolutionary War. The major problem of the new constitution is it did not emphasize any specific rights for the people, according to the Anti-Federalists. The Bill of Rights helped to alleviate this perceived problem.
