How do I find the sine, cosine, and tangent of a real number without being given its points on the unit circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you given?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-7pi/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the angle corresponding to \(-\frac{7\pi}{3}\) on the unit circle then look at the coordinates

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7pi/3 isn't on the unit circle... There is 7pi/6 and 7pi/4... but i cant find 7pi/3.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

That's more than a full rotation around the circle :) Add or subtract 2pi from 7pi/3. That should give you a nice reference angle to work with.

Alrightttttt... Just figured it out. Thank you!
