Find the equation of the line that is modeled by the values in the table shown below. A. Determine the slope of the line. Show the work you did to find the slope. B. Using the slope you found in Part I and the values in the table, write the equation of the linear function represented by the table. Write your equation in point-slope form.
Take any two y values, find their difference, and divide by their corresponding x values. That's the slope. You can check if this is correct by using another pair of y and x values.
Then using the equation, y = mx + b, you now have m, the slope, plug in any value for x and corresponding y value to find b. You will then have m and b and you are done.
