People post questions so that they understand stuff which is less possible on Google!

I don't this she was considering this then again I am not Preetha.
I do remember back then there was a huge fight between the people who were against the music chat and the people for the sport group.
I believe a lot of people got suspended for fighting about it, some didn't want a sports group because they thought it would become like the music group and so on.

Some people are really passionate about the team they follow, so imagine the arguments! xD

but cant moderators delete questions? because that would stop arguments. I recall this happening on a antibullying thing with a few students

There are 150,000 students on this site and more than half like football.
Do you think each 75,000 starts an argument a few 30-50 moderators would be able to delete the questions? :D

This site is for educational purposes. Sport is in most cases not educational. So that's why there are special football forums and every other sport sure does have their own forum. So there's no need to create a sports section here.
